More from Mexico!

Here are a couple more layouts from my honeymoon.  It was so much fun making this Mexico album!  I am almost sad it is done but you will see some more posts still.

Rio Secreto

Mexico's secret underground River's.  My husband and I were fortunate enough to get a private tour and I was so happy when even he wants to by the pictures after. I was worried about scrapping these because the coloring and lighting varies so much but I am really happy with how it turned out.

Valladolid

This was a quick little stop in a small Mexican town on our way back from Chichen Itza.  I was a nice relaxing end to a busy and fun filled day.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great day!

Some More From MEXICO!

I actually finally finished my honeymoon album at a scrapbook retreat last month but I haven't revealed them all so far.  Here are a couple.  Hopefully they will be inspiring for everyone who has topical vacation pictures sitting around waiting to be scrapped.

Sunset at Night

This is a collection of picture from around our resort at night.  For all my resort pictures I grouped them by theme instead of by date to save space and reduce the number of random layouts I had to do.

 Chichen Itza

This is the second layout I did for our trip to Chichen Itza.  The first can be found here.  I love the simplicity of this layout.  Sometimes less really is more.

Lasting Memories Challenge #33

Challenge #33 - JOURNALING

One thing I don't do enough of in journaling!!!  I am working on it though.  Usually I write in my journal blocks but whenever I have a fair amount to say I type and print it.

Chichen Itza
We went to Chichen Itza in Mexico on our honeymoon.  Accomplishing my goal of seeing three out of the seven world wonder was something worth journaling.

Eat, Drink, and Be Married

Wow, this is my first post of 2011!  Sorry for the delay.  My husband is home from work (ie. I've had no time to scrap now that he's in town for once).  That's ok with my though...having him home is definitely worth it.

This page is over my husband and I at all the different restaurants at our honeymoon resort.  It was a difficult to make this page because the colouring in all the photos is so different.  I'm glad this paper picked up on their common colours.

Also, check out me winter blog candy here!

At The Beach

I know everyone is in the Christmas craft making zone but my head is still at the beach.  Here is another layout from Mexico.  It's a bunch of beach photos taken over the course of our honeymoon. I ordered that beachy woven background off esty and thought it was a great addition to the page.

Some "Scary Cute" Creations

Today I am featuring a great little Etsy shop called ...

It is run by Chelsey who has her Scary Cute blog here.

The shop is filled with all sorts of beautiful handmade flowers...they can be pins, clips, headbands, and even scrapbook pieces.  Click here to visit the scary cute shop!

Also, Chelsey has been generous enough to offer a 10% discount for all my blog followers.  All you have to do is mention my blog in the comment box during purchase and she will refund 10% back to you.

Have fun shopping!...I definitely did!!!  Here are a couple things I made with her flowers.

Dive
Here is a page of my hubby and I about to drop backwards into the water for our first scuba trip...so much fun!

I love how these flowers accent the page.

This layout was inspired by Sketch #129 at the Creative Scrappers blog.

Christmas Card
Here is my first Christmas card of the season.  It's nice to know I've at least got a start on this since Christmas is right around the corner...also started my Christmas shopping today so things are getting done!

I really loved the deep red color of these flowers.  Perfect for the holiday season!
This card is designed for this weeks Bo Bunny card sketch challenge which is posted on the Bo Bunny blog.

So that is it for today.  I have already started on more so look out for the Christmas cards and Scary Cute creations coming.

Two More From Mexico

Swimming with the Dolphins
Here is a new layout of our swimming with the dolphin pictures in Mexico.  I've been working on this layout for a while but finally got the stuff in to complete it.  I paid a lot of money for these photos so I'm glad I got a couple pages out of them.

Statues
This is another page I did a while back.  I enjoyed it because I only printed 4x6 photos so it was super easy.  After a night out at the Coco Bongo and an all inclusive bar my hubby was finally in the mood to take statue pictures with me.  I'm really in love with the pictures.

Jump! - A Sassy Lil' Sketch

This is the second submission I have for this month's Sassy Lil' Sketch.  I loved the design and think it could be used in so many different ways.

My photos are us jumping in the rain forest.  We were visiting Rio Secreto National Park in Mexico, on our way to explore their underground rivers.  I loved the photos and think this page sketch displays them perfectly.

I'm on my way to Victoria for the long weekend but will have more Mexico pages to post on Monday!

Coconut

One more page done for the Mexico album.  I'm not much of a finisher when it comes to scrapbooking but I am determined to get this album done before Christmas.  My husband just left for work for 24 days so at least I'm have some time to work on it.

I'm a big believer that less can often be more.  I love all these really detailed pages I see but my strong point is always using clean lines.  This page is definitely an example of that.

Playa Del Carmen

This page is a collaboration of photos taken in Playa Del Carmen throughout our two week honeymoon.  I like its simplicity because they photos have so much going on.  I also like the layering of ribbon along the bottom.

This is a simple go to layout for me.  Sometimes when you have a ton of photos and you just want to get them done this layout is really nice.  Makes for much more efficient scrapbooking.

More Of Our Honeymoon

Wild Life
Here are a couple more pages I did for our honeymoon album while procrastinating all the work I had to do this week.

The first is some pictures of the wildlife we spotted at our resort.

Dolphin Discovery
These are the printed photos they gave us when we purchased our photo package for swimming with the dolphins.

Snorkeling

These are photos from our snorkeling trip off the coast of Cozumel, Mexico.  Fun and and really fun to scrap!

I used my new Cricut Cartridge that I bought on clearance at Micheals for $29.  I like it because the letters are so narrow it makes it way easier to fit long words on a page.  Makes my font collection far more diverse.

I found a great store in Vancouver this weekend called Urban Source.  Its on Main St.  These have tons of vintage materials to use for crafts and was a lot of fun to look through.  The "Swim with the Fish" label is made from a wood tag I found at the store.  I painted it, sanded it, distressed it with ink, sanded it, distressed it with different ink, sanded it, then stamped it.

I'm definitely is one of those phases when I could scrap all day very day.  Too bad this is a crazy week for work and school :s.

You Can Swim!

Just finished this page of my husband snorkeling.  It was one of those pictures you snap without thinking but actually turn out really well.

He's not a very good swimmer and is actually wearing a life jacket in this picture.  He might not like having a page that focuses on this little weakness but he can always be swayed by pictures of himself.  I love that man...almost as much as he loves himself.

Happy Saturday!  And be sure to check out my blog candy.

Mexico Title Page

Last night I completed the title page for our Honeymoon Album.  I have the first and the last page; now I need everything in between other than the couple layouts I posted yesterday.

I am excited about this album and plan on focusing on it till its complete.  I have a tendency to be unfocused when it comes to scrapbooking.  I often do whatever layouts I feel like and have serval albums from years ago that are only half full.

Making the memory albums and guestbook for my wedding forced me to learn the get pages done even when I'm not feeling particularly inspired.  Hopefully this lesson will transfer over and allow me to finish my Mexico album instead of leaving it half done for the next two years.

I based this page on a sketch I had created earlier.  Hope you enjoy!

Honeymoon Layouts

Poolside Pictures
These are just a couple layouts for my Mexico scrapbook that I am currently working on.  The first is a collection of photos we took by the pool at our resort.

Cozumel Island
The second is a day we spent zipping around Cozumel Island on a scooter.

This Friday is "Crop Night" at our local store so there is more to come soon!

SKETCH: Feed the Fish

I used this page sketch to create a page of my husband and I on the last day of our honeymoon.  We fed the fish outside our resort. I love it because it uses a lot of pictures and is a layout style I haven't used before.
