At The Beach

I know everyone is in the Christmas craft making zone but my head is still at the beach.  Here is another layout from Mexico.  It's a bunch of beach photos taken over the course of our honeymoon. I ordered that beachy woven background off esty and thought it was a great addition to the page.

Some "Scary Cute" Creations

Today I am featuring a great little Etsy shop called ...

It is run by Chelsey who has her Scary Cute blog here.

The shop is filled with all sorts of beautiful handmade flowers...they can be pins, clips, headbands, and even scrapbook pieces.  Click here to visit the scary cute shop!

Also, Chelsey has been generous enough to offer a 10% discount for all my blog followers.  All you have to do is mention my blog in the comment box during purchase and she will refund 10% back to you.

Have fun shopping!...I definitely did!!!  Here are a couple things I made with her flowers.

Dive
Here is a page of my hubby and I about to drop backwards into the water for our first scuba trip...so much fun!

I love how these flowers accent the page.

This layout was inspired by Sketch #129 at the Creative Scrappers blog.

Christmas Card
Here is my first Christmas card of the season.  It's nice to know I've at least got a start on this since Christmas is right around the corner...also started my Christmas shopping today so things are getting done!

I really loved the deep red color of these flowers.  Perfect for the holiday season!
This card is designed for this weeks Bo Bunny card sketch challenge which is posted on the Bo Bunny blog.

So that is it for today.  I have already started on more so look out for the Christmas cards and Scary Cute creations coming.

Jump Into Fall

Here is another fun fall layout from my weekend trip to Victoria.  I love these photos we took.  Definitely the benefit of having a DSLR; my old point and shoot couldn't have captured this so perfectly.

While in Victoria we ran across a private little scrapbook shop where I bought these two Graphic 45 papers and a bunch more fun stuff you'll be seeing used soon.

I really love the painted chipboard leaf flourishes.

I've submitted this page for this week's challenge over at Let's Capture These Sketches.  Hope everyone enjoys their Friday.

Having Fun With Fall

I love this photo series my husband took of me in Victoria this weekend.  So often I'm the one behind the camera...call me vain but I really like being included in the pictures so I had a lot of fun taking and scrapping these pictures.

This pile of leaves was huge!  We also have some photos of us jumping into them which I'm excited to do a page for.

Also, I've entered this layout in Scrapbooking Competitions' November Sketch Challenge as well as listed it as one of my favourite layouts in Crop Suey's bonus challenge.

Two More From Mexico

Swimming with the Dolphins
Here is a new layout of our swimming with the dolphin pictures in Mexico.  I've been working on this layout for a while but finally got the stuff in to complete it.  I paid a lot of money for these photos so I'm glad I got a couple pages out of them.

Statues
This is another page I did a while back.  I enjoyed it because I only printed 4x6 photos so it was super easy.  After a night out at the Coco Bongo and an all inclusive bar my hubby was finally in the mood to take statue pictures with me.  I'm really in love with the pictures.

Jump! - A Sassy Lil' Sketch

This is the second submission I have for this month's Sassy Lil' Sketch.  I loved the design and think it could be used in so many different ways.

My photos are us jumping in the rain forest.  We were visiting Rio Secreto National Park in Mexico, on our way to explore their underground rivers.  I loved the photos and think this page sketch displays them perfectly.

I'm on my way to Victoria for the long weekend but will have more Mexico pages to post on Monday!

O'Keefe Ranch

Here is a page of my husband and I visiting a heritage park called O'Keefe Ranch.  We had always talked about having a day trip there and finally went last fall when we were looking fo wedding venues...since I haven't had time to scrapbook in almost a year I'm finally getting around to making the page.

Since it's a heritage park with a farm and an old mansion I had a ton of fun using a bunch a vintage pieces on this page.

I've entered this page in the challenge over at Let's Capture These Sketches.  Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend!

Two Layouts About My Job

Haunted House
This first layout has something missing...Pictures!  I haven't actually had them printed yet but wanted to show this off anyways.  It's a simple layout but fun to make and perfect for the theme.  I really enjoyed using these tropical themed papers for a spooky page.

The pictures will be from a Haunted House at a Halloween party thrown by the university where I study and work.....Haha...I just realized I left out a letter in "haunted".  I guess that's what happens when you scrapbook while on the phone with your hubby.  I'm glad those stickers come off easily.

Fam Tour
The second layout is the group photo from an event I ran for my job in October.  It was definitely one of the defining moments of my career to this point.

The page design is taken from Sketch #128 on the Creative Scrappers' blog.

Happy Friday everyone!  Enjoy your weekend.

Engagement Card

One of my good friends just got engaged.  I'm so excited for her and couldn't wait to make her an engagement card.  I had some really cute stamps I hadn't had a chance to use yet; this was the perfect opportunity.  Also a great time for me to do some heat embossing to create a  metal illusion.  Super easy and the results are always beautiful.

There are 3 steps to embossing:
1) Stamp your image using embossing ink.
2) Sprinkle embossing powder over the area you stamped then pour it back into the jar.
3) Go over the entire area with a heat gun until all the embossing powder is melted.

Here are a few pictures of the details.  My metal inspiration is carried through the silver embossing.

I've entered this in the November Crafting Life's Pieces, For Fun Challenges, and Sarah Hurley Challenge blog contests.

Vintage Flower Tutorial from Simply Paper

A tutorial to make this beautiful vintage flower was just posted on the Simply Paper blog.  It a beautiful project that I am already dying to try.  Check it out!  I'm sure it will inspire a few others.
